Chambers fill a vital role in communities as a place for businesses and community organizations to engage, including creating and supporting charitable causes. We are very pleased to work with Our Mayberry, who has developed a powerful, yet easy-to-use ecommerce Marketplace to enable community businesses, causes, and consumers to use the transactions of everyday life as fuel for needs in the community.
The mission of the Pasco Chamber of Commerce is bring area businesses together with each other and the community to achieve economic security by fostering a vibrant local business environment and to enhance the quality of life in our region. Because we are community focused, we are uniquely positioned to help identify and promote programs and services that will be of value to our members and help us fulfill our mission.
Accordingly, we are pleased to promote to Pasco Chamber of Commerce business, nonprofit, and community organization members the Our Mayberry Marketplace. The Marketplace is structured in a way to bring community members together and to provide an additional incentive for local consumers to “buy local.” Consumers are increasingly frustrated with current ecommerce options, most of which profit from selling consumer data and pull dollars out of the local economy. Businesses are frustrated with the increasing cost and complexity of online advertising, with no guarantee of results. And nonprofits face a fundraising environment in which fewer individuals contribute, even as community needs grow.
The Our Mayberry Marketplace solves these problems in a powerful way by enabling local nonprofits to promote their causes online, and then refer customers to the local businesses who agree to devote a portion of sales to support the cause. Nonprofits benefit by opening a new channel to a consistent source of funding that is NOT dependent on individual donations. Businesses benefit from referrals of customers who are motivated to buy to support their favorite causes. And consumers benefit by knowing that every purchase they make through the Marketplace will support a cause they believe in. Our Mayberry is a win-win-win solution that enriches the community by helping consumers, businesses, and charitable organizations work together to benefit each other.
